This 61 Impala convertible came to us already painted on a stock chassis sporting the original 283 and Powerglide. We removed the body from the frame and sent it out to be blasted and powder coated. We had Currie do a 9" Ford rear up for it. It has 3.70 gears, posi. and disc brakes. We went with Air Ride's complete package including tubular arms front and rear and Shockwaves in the front. The front was also upgraded to a 605 steering box and 11" disc brakes. For the motivation we chose a new LS1 engine and 4l60e trans. Wired up with a Speartech harness and GM computer it is turn key reliable. Feeding the engine is a stainless gas tank from Ricks Hot Rods. The front drive was created by Bones Fab including 140 amp alternator, Sanden AC compressor, and Lee power steering pump. A Griffin radiator and twin Spal fan setup keeps it all cool. Braking assist is provided by a Hydra-tech hydroboost setup. Interior upgrades consist of Vintage air Gen II climate control and a Dakota Digital dash. We didn't go for the full show polish on this one, we just wanted it nice and clean as the factory would have done it.
