Terry's 69 Camaro came in as a clean driver. It had an aluminum headed 468, 700r4, 12 bolt and disc brakes. We cleaned up what he had and got him on the road for Hot August Nights. Well he had such a good time, Terry wanted to take it to the next level. We discussed a few options and decided to go the Pro-Touring route. Soon enough, parts began to show up. We had the full Detroit speed catalog show up including the mini tub kit, stainless gas tank, steel dash insert, and 7 speed wipers. The engine showed up in a crate from SSRE, a 540 ci crate engine that made 670 hp. We chose a Vintage air Front Runner accessory drive for the ultra clean looks. We decided to convert it to a manual trans and went with a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed hooked to a Mcleod Street Twin clutch and steel bell housing. The rear ended up being upgraded to Moser 9" with 31 spline axles, Tru-trac posi and 3.70 gears. Front suspension consists of the Global West CAT-5 kit which includes tubular upper and lower a-arms, custom spindles with 13" Wilwood brakes, coil springs and Koni shocks. The interior has been fully redone. The dash is outfitted with Autometer Phantom gauges, Vintage Air climate control and full tilt stereo and navigation system. The leather was done by Jose of J.B. custom interiors. The paint and body was done by Devon at CAL CUSTOMS in Camarillo, Ca. Colors are all House of Color. |
