Bones' 69 Camaro is a little too low and a little too loud. He bought the car as an unfinished project. The chassis and tin were already installed by Perry Auto Fab of Ventura, Ca. The chassis was put together with top line products from Art Morrison, featuring a Mustang II front end and a Pro 4-Link with a sway bar. ALdan double adjustable shocks on all four corners. Polished Wilwoods bring it to a stop. The rear end is a 9" ford featuring Strange 35 spline axles, a matching Detroit Locker fitted with cruising friendly 3.70 gears. A Coast machine driveshaft connects it to a full tilt Mike's 400 with a Contenintal converter. The engine was aquired with the car. It features Bowtie 400 block, Crower crank, Oliver rods, and J-E pistons. It has a custom Comp solid roller along with Comps belt drive. The cylinder heads are Dart Pro-215's. Ported and assembled by Todd of McKenzie's Cylinder Heads. The rest of the valve train consists of Comp Hi-tech pushrods, Crane Gold rockers and Crane stud girdles. Induction is handled by a Super Victor modified for fuel injection. A Bones Fab custom elbow attaches a 90mm Acufab throttle body. 85lb. injectors are controlled by a F.A.S.T. sequential computer. A Vortech YS-I blower forces the incoming air through a 4" air to air intercooler. A Moroso vacuum pump helps alleviate crankcase pressure to help get a little more power out of it. All the front brackets were made in house by Bones. It made 636hp to the tire on 91 pump gas. That power was made with 65lb injectors that we maxed out. We're hoping for 700 to tire with the bigger injectors. The car rides on the new Mickey Thompson HR-1 wheels. The rears are 20x16 rims with 31 x 18.5 x 20 street radials. The fronts are 18x5 rims with a 26 x 7.5 x 18 radial. For track use, we have Weld Alumna-Stars wrapped with Mickey Thompson E.T. streets. The paint was handled by Devon Thompson of Cal Custom in Camarillo, ca. The paint is House of Color True blue over a silver base. Interior appointments are a full slew of Autometer guages, Turbo action shifter, Painless switch panel and harness, Kirkey aluminum seats, Crow safety harness', and a Grant wheel attached to the tilt column. Headliner and carpet were installed by Jose of J.B. Custom Upolhstry.
