Joe's El Camino came in for a paint job, some suspension and brake work. Well, that went completely sideways and has now turned into a full frame off restification! The body has been taken off of the frame and completely refurbished, the firewall smoothed, and the bed done in color matched Raptor coating. The frame went out to be powdercoated and has been outfitted with a Stage IV CPP suspension kit, big brakes, tubular control arms, Hal shocks, and lowering springs. The 12 bolt has been rebuilt with 3.55 gears and new axles. The engine is a new 496 stroker with 10-1 compression, Comp Cams hydraulic rollers, Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake, Holley carb, and MSD ignition. A Vintage Air front runner has been outfitted to the engine to finish it off. The TH400 trans was freshened by DMC transmissions and features a 10" torque converter. It will be backed by a Gear Vendor overdrive for cruise-ability. Some of the other features of the build include Hydratech power brakes, Painless wiring, Dakota Digital VHX Dash, Griffin aluminum radiator, and Spal fans. This project is coming along very nicely! |
